Advanced Composite Centre
Magellan Aerospace held a ceremonial ribbon cutting event on 25 October to celebrate the final stages of completion of the company’s new Advanced Composite Manufacturing Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The 138,000 square foot facility is one of the most advanced composite manufacturing and assembly centres in North America. The launch customer for the new centre is BAE Systems in the UK, who awarded Magellan a contract to produce F-35 Lightning II horizontal tail components.
Magellan Invests for Future F35 Demand
Magellan announces its action to support current and forecast hard metal machining demand from the F35 Lightning II program through its investment in a new flexible machining system (FMS) in Kitchener, ON. The system includes provision for up to five high-torque machining cells, and a Fanuc robot on a linear rail system.
